When I was asked to produce a piece of artwork for downtown Siloam Springs, I knew I wanted it to be unique to the community. Historically, from what I have read, the “springs” in town were never major flowing water systems, but gentle flowing water. The image I’ve always had in my head was that of active, life giving springs. While preparing to work on sketches, early summer storms had Sager Creek actively flowing through rocks, and settling into gentle yet flowing pools. I tried to capture that idea of active versus gentle springs.
