Several years ago, I had a local photographer friend, Luke Davis http://www.mainstreetstudios.net shoot some photos of some of my favorite pieces. Going through my iphoto images, I ran into these beautiful images that he took. I couldn't be prouder, nor happier at what Luke shot. I think it is time to get some new images photographed by him, again.
further along with book commission, still a long way to go. But book layout is complete, placing some illustrations.
20" pencil version to work off of, My next step is to use a marker and define all the lines as accurate as I can, and indication all connection marks. The client has requested to keep this drawing, so my next step will be to finish this, then trace onto tracing paper, and hope that the tracing paper is strong enough to work on. Might need a stronger vellum.
I was just invited to teach a weeklong class called "Drawing with Wire" next summer July 10th thru 14th at the Mark Adams School of Woodworking in Indiana. They offer amazing classes on all aspects of woodworking as well as supplemental classes like mine, that can offer food for thought to their students. It is open to the public, you can find out about classes at www.marcadams.com.
It will include working with baling wire, as well as the nickel/silver wire.
New exhibition featuring my wire drawing of a cat.
A good friend wanted his favorite Bass Guitar created out of silver wire. It proved to be multi-layers due to all the detail. I finished it and picked it up to admire it when the top neck of the guitar hit the fan. I'll never do that again. I was soon back at the wire and solder drawing board. It's been years since I have had a new website and blog that somehow tries to break down my career as an artist into categories. In terms of media, I have done them all, painting, drawing, assemblage, collage, wire drawing, installation art, and now public art works. Hopefully this new site will remedy the confusion.
On June 1-15th, I will be having a 15% off sale of all the artwork on the site. Just use the code "15%OFF" and you will receive the discount. Shipping in the USA is always free.
Please let me know what you think of the website, and whether you would want to be on my email list. Use the "contact" page, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
