I produced this book after the three year process of creating the installation. It includes images of all the work produced for the show, and an artist statement. The premise of the installation and book, is that the concept of our american garage sale mirrors the idea of redemption and salvation. When we purchase items from garage sales, we in a sense are redeeming them...giving new life to something old or discarded. In my case, I gave new life to the objects, by documenting them in the form of wire artwork, and rust paintings. Each piece has a story attached that coincides with the stories I collected when purchasing the item..."what originally made this item precious, and at what point did it come out of favor to be sold for a few dollars?"
